Cécile Vanderpelen-Diagre

Cécile Vanderpelen-Diagre holds a doctorate in history from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where she has been teaching history since 2010. Her research focuses on the history of Catholicism in its anthropological and cultural dimensions (sexuality, relationship to the body, faith, literature, and the arts). She is a member of the ULB's Interdisciplinary Centre for the Study of Religions and Secularism. She participates in the drafting committee of the Problèmes d'histoire des religions/'Problems in religious History.' She is also an associate member of the Centre d'études en sciences sociales du religieux (CESOR) of EHESS and a member of the scientific committee of the Archives des sciences sociales des religions (EHESS editions). She is equally involved in the history of gender and women and has co-chaired the Centre d'archives pour l'histoire des femmes (AVG-CARHIF) since March 2017. At the ULB she is the editor with Amandine Lauro of Sextant, official publication of the ULB's Interdisciplinary Research Structure on Gender (STRIGES) and, with David Paternotte, of the collection Genre(s) & Sexualité(s)/'Gender(s) & Sexualit(ies)'.
