Chang Liu is a Lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). She received her PhD degree in History from King's College London in 2018. Her ongoing book manuscript investigates the changing cultural-political discourses about single womanhood in the first half of twentieth-century China and the everyday lives of actual middle-class single women in urban areas, with a focu on Shanghai.
