Leonardo Rossi has graduated in Historical Sciences at the University of Florence (Italy). Since September 2015, he participates as a PhD student in the ERC project STIGMATICS: "Between saints and celebrities. The devotion and promotion of stigmatics in Europe, c.1800-1950" (supervisor: prof. Tine Van Osselaer). He is studying the Italian stigmatics, their popular reception and the Vatican response to their cults. His focus is on the relationship between popular devotion and political adaptation of the cults by the Church.
