L&#8217;ouverture de la Chine au marché mondial a transformé, non seulement les flux économiques mais les équilibres géopolitiques antérieurs comme nos représentations du monde. Ce livre, résultat d&#8217;une longue collaboration entre chercheurs d&#8217;Europe de l&#8217;Ouest et de l&#8217;Est et de chercheurs chinois, porte des regards croisés sur les modèles sociaux européens, américains et chinois sont confrontés à la globalisation. Derrière la diversité des systèmes d&#8217;emploi et de protection sociale européens, des formes de transition vers une économie de marché en Europe de l&#8217;Est et la réforme chinoise qui se présente comme une ouverture brusque au marché, se dégage une interrogation commune sur les formes de la mondialisation. &#60;br&#62;&#60;br&#62;Dans cette perspective, la présentation de la réforme chinoise comme l&#8217;ouverture aux catégories du capitalisme apporte un éclairage inédit. Celle-ci a contribué à une « marchandisation » de l&#8217;emploi et, par conséquent, à une transformation des conditions de vie et de travail de la quasi-totalité de la population. L&#8217;État a néanmoins rapidement joué son rôle tout à la fois de « maintien de l&#8217;ordre » et de « protecteur » de la société. La Chine nous révèle ainsi comme par un effet de miroir les débats européens concernant l&#8217;emploi et le chômage, les restructurations et les délocalisations, le vieillissement et les retraites, l&#8217;immigration et l&#8217;intégration.</Text>
