En Roumanie, l'Église orthodoxe se soumit au « César » national-communiste et se laissa instrumentaliser par le régime dès 1948. Les relations entre religion et nationalisme déterminèrent une nouvelle fois, à l&#8217;instar de l&#8217;entre-deux-guerres, les rapports entre l&#8217;Église orthodoxe et l&#8217;État et semblent aujourd&#8217;hui encore constituer un obstacle majeur au processus de transition démocratique depuis 1989.&#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
Le présent ouvrage se propose d&#8217;étudier dans quelle mesure les traditions de l&#8217;Église orthodoxe dominante en Roumanie, héritière d&#8217;un modèle byzantin imprégné de « césaropapisme », pourraient influencer les comportements démocratiques. Comment à l&#8217;époque communiste, mais également de nos jours, l&#8217;Église orthodoxe véhicule-t-elle, au travers de son discours et de son ecclésiologie, une « idéologie » qui détermine ses rapports avec l&#8217;État, la patrie, la nation et les minorités ? Comment en arrive-t-elle ainsi à définir les termes d&#8217;une exclusion ethnique et confessionnelle ?&#60;/p&#62;</Text>
